Zack Foster

Residential Assistant, ELL Instructor

Biography

I am a Residential Assistant and English Language Learner Instructor at North Cedar Academy. I previously taught English Language Arts and coached football for nearly a decade at Southern Nash High School in North Carolina. At NCA, I support students in their learning in the classroom and enjoy everyday life with them in the dorms. Whether it’s study hall, meals, trips, or playing frisbee golf, I value the opportunity to connect and support their growth.

Education

I hold a B.A. in English with a minor in Secondary Education from North Carolina Wesleyan University, where I also earned my initial teaching license.

What I Enjoy Most About Working at NCA

I enjoy building relationships with students from around the world, mentoring them in both the classroom and the dorms, and sharing daily life with my wife as part of the NCA community.

Fun Fact/Hobbies

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife, Amberleigh, our dog Pennie, and our family and friends. I stay active through running and sports, and I also enjoy reading and writing. A fun fact is I am a published sports writer with experience covering local teams and writing feature stories that highlight the personal side of athletics.

Favorite Quote

“Everything in life is about timing: Be prepared
Everyday of my life is a good day: Be thankful
The impact you can make on someone’s life will far exceed the time you spend on this earth: Love one another”
