North Cedar Academy (NCA) is committed to providing exceptional educational opportunities through our participation in Wisconsin’s distinguished choice programs: the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP), the Racine Parental Choice Program (RPCP), and the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP). These programs are fundamental in offering financial assistance to eligible families, allowing them to choose private schools like NCA for their children’s education.
While each of these programs shares the common goal of expanding educational opportunities, they differ primarily based on geographic eligibility:
- Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP): Open to students residing outside the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) and Racine Unified School District (RUSD) boundaries.
- Racine Parental Choice Program (RPCP): Specifically designed for students residing within the Racine Unified School District.
- Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP): Available to students living within the city of Milwaukee.

Step-By-Step With DPI
Here are the steps to apply as provided by the schoolchoicewi.org/enroll page:
- DETERMINE PROGRAM & ELIGIBILITY
Visit the Parent FAQ page for an overview of each program's residency, income, and eligibility requirements. The income threshold tab goes into more detail about the qualifying adjusted gross income. - NOTE THE ENROLLMENT PERIOD
Open enrollment periods vary by program and are listed on the Parent FAQ page, with the first enrollment periods beginning in February of each year. - SUBMIT THE ONLINE APPLICATION
The private school choice programs application is on the DPI website.—View lists of participating schools for each program. You may apply to one or more schools during open enrollment. - SEND DOCUMENTS TO SCHOOLS
After completing the application on the DPI website, you must send proof of residency and income documentation (if applicable) to each school you apply to. - MONITOR YOUR APPLICATION
Once you've applied, you communicate with the schools directly about your application status. You'll be notified by email or mail if you've been accepted or on a waiting list. - ENROLL YOUR STUDENT
If you are accepted, let the school know you will be enrolling. If you are on a waiting list, the school will notify you of your place in line.
