Greetings and welcome to North Cedar Academy! I trust this year will be an exciting and challenging time in your life, but one that will ultimately prepare you to be the type of well-rounded, educated, and engaged global citizen our world needs to move forward. Think about that! Suffice it to say that we are thrilled to have you join our NCA community and look forward to your contribution to the same.

Know that our dedicated faculty have spent their summer planning for your courses and cannot wait to engage with you in their classrooms, and to do life with you this coming year. We take pride in our community, which continues to grow and impact the world for the better. So many of our alumni stay connected with our amazing NCA faculty who are so proud of their many accomplishments – and you’re next!

I hope that during your coursework this year, you will continually challenge yourself and take full advantage of each and every opportunity to grow. Your teachers and I will push you, but ultimately your education is what you decide it will be. You have the power to be anything you want. Please take that seriously.

As you prepare to join the NCA community, allow me to exhort you with the following: Ensure that you’re poised for success. Bring a working laptop with modern word-processing capabilities. Make sure your transcripts are fully submitted and that requests for additional information are complied with expeditiously. And finally, make sure you prepare yourself mentally to make the most of this opportunity. Students, your coursework, extracurricular activities, field trips, and frequent opportunities to be a part of the greater Ladysmith community will challenge you to give and become your best this year. Take advantage of that.

There is so much good in store for you in the coming year. Come ready to engage. Come ready to become your best self.
