Ease Into Art

Madden Roehl (left), 4, and Aiden Bentley, (6), both of Tony, put brush to paper on Saturday, March 10 at the Dr. Suess Birthday Party held in the Bloedow and O’Connor rooms at Rusk County Community Library in Ladysmith. The Children’s Council of Rusk County sponsored the event that drew more than 50 youngsters and their parents to the library. The young artists were encouraged by Lima Sarhadi of Afghanistan, who is a student at North Cedar Academy. Theodore Seuss Geisel was an American author, political cartoonist, poet, animator, book publisher and artist, best known for authoring more than 60 children’s books under the pen name Doctor Seuss. He was born on March 2, 1904 and died on Sept. 24, 1991. This year marks the 114 year since his birth.
