As a young child, I always dreamed of becoming a nurse. My dream came true in 1978 when I graduated from Viterbo College in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing. Since that day, I have dedicated my life to the field of nursing. In my later years, I completed my Master’s Degree in Education Professional Development from the University of LaCrosse. Over the course of my nursing career, I have worked as a Public Health Nurse, Home Care Nurse, School Nurse, and I presently teach for Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College as a Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor. In addition to this, I work part time for Aurora Community Counseling doing psychiatric nursing.
I have been working as the school nurse at North Cedar Academy for the past 4 years. Some of my job duties include providing nursing care, administering medication, and emergency services. I also educate staff and students on health-related issues, provide CPR/ First Aide training, and oversee that NCA is in compliance with the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction related to school health.
North Cedar Academy is located on the beautiful Flambeau River. Ladysmith is my home town and has much to offer including kayaking, canoeing, snowshoeing, and hiking. NCA has a wonderful staff who work hard to ensure students always come first. We are a small school with so much to offer to our students, staff, and the community.
I enjoy spending time with my son, daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, and daughter. When not at work, I enjoy golfing, reading, traveling, gardening, and seeing my close friends.
