My name is Ann Jerry. I attended Mount Senario College in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, and graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. I later attended the University of Tulsa, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and received my Master’s of Music Degree in Piano Performance in 1988.
I taught elementary music in the Ladysmith School District for four years, and the Flambeau School District for twenty-three years. Over the years, I have directed numerous children’s programs and mini-musicals. I wrote and directed an original mini-musical as well.
I have an extensive background in accompanying, both at the college and high school level. I have accompanied for solo and ensemble and large group events, show choir competitions, jazz bands, musicals, and much more. I have given private piano lessons since high school. I have also played and sung in a contemporary worship band for about twenty years.
This past year at NCA, I taught three courses. They were Music Appreciation, Concert Choir, and Piano Class. I also directed the Ladysmith Community Singers during the spring semester, culminating in a combined performance with the NCA Choir.
Here at North Cedar Academy, I enjoy the diversity of nationalities in our student body. Students bring fresh perspectives to the classes from their own cultures, which make the class discussions fun and interesting.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy gardening, traveling, seeing concerts and plays, and making time for family and church.
